Department of Microwave, Quantum, and Space Radiophysics

Mstyslav E. Kaliberda

Head of Department: Doctor of Science, Professor Mstyslav E. Kaliberda, Room 4-2.

The department’s scientific activity covers theoretical and experimental research in the following key areas:

  • Electrodynamics of microwave, THz, and optical ranges: research on waveguiding and radiating structures, the study of plasmonic effects, and the development of numerical-analytical methods.
  • Quantum radiophysics and laser topics: the development of generators and lasers in the THz and IR ranges, molecular spectroscopy, and research on vortex beams.
  • Space radiophysics and radio astronomy: experimental and theoretical studies of the impact of variations in atmospheric and space weather conditions of terrestrial and space origin on radio wave propagation and the operation of communication, radar, radionavigation, and remote radio sounding systems for civil and military applications.

More details about educational programs, scientific achievements, and staff are available on the department’s website.
