The Ukrainian technology publication DOU has published an in-depth article, “Companies Are Ready to Search for Them for Years and Pay up to $8,000 — Who RF Engineers Are and Why They Are in Short Supply in the Defense Industry”, highlighting the growing demand for specialists in radiophysics and RF engineering in Ukraine. The article discusses the professional activities of RF engineers, current labor market trends, and the reasons behind the significant shortage of qualified specialists.
According to representatives of Ukrainian technology companies, there is particularly strong demand for specialists in antenna design, microwave engineering, digital signal processing (DSP), Software Defined Radio (SDR), electromagnetic wave propagation modeling, radar systems, and electronic warfare technologies. These competencies form the foundation of modern radiophysics and are developed through the educational programs of the Faculty of Radiophysics, Biomedical Electronics and Computer Systems
at V. N. Karazin Kharkiv National University.
The Faculty has a long tradition of educating specialists in radiophysics, electronics, telecommunications, signal processing, programming, and mathematical modeling. Today, these competencies are applied not only in fundamental research, but also in high-tech industries, telecommunications, medicine, aerospace, and defense technologies.
