Ukraine joined the European Science “Horizon 2020”

Ukraine became an associate member of the EU Framework Programme for Research and Innovation “Horizon 2020”.
Agreement on accession to the large grant project was signed in Kiev Minister of Education and Science of Ukraine Sergey Kvit and EU Commissioner for Science and Innovation, Carlos Moedas.
Ukraine will receive access to the full range of activities funded under the program “Horizon 2020”, also will be able to enjoy all its benefits on the same basis as other EU countries. From now on, Ukraine will be able to use the research infrastructure of the EU. The program “Horizon 2020” has a tool for small and medium-sized enterprises.
The cost of the project “Horizon 2020” – 80 billion euros. The European side has offered Ukraine a 95 percent discount for participating in it. Ukraine’s contribution is EUR 35500000 until 2020. This year Ukraine pays nothing, and this amount will be allocated to the following 4 years. In addition, half of the fee will be back in the form of technical assistance.
