As of 01.07.2017, the faculty has one of the highest percentages of the content of highly qualified personnel in the university 97.5% – (40 full-time scientific and pedagogical workers, 14 doctors of science, professors, 25 candidates of science, associate professors, 39 teachers with a scientific degree and academic title).
Prof. Chernogor L.F. received the title of “Honored Worker of Science and Technology of Ukraine.”
The State Prize of Ukraine in the field of science and technology was awarded to the team of scientists of the faculty in the composition of Katrich V.A., Gorobets N.N., Nesterenko N.V., Berdnik S.L., Dumin A.N.. for the work “Creation of radiating structures of multifunctional radio-electronic systems”.
In terms of the number and volume of funding research work by the Ministry of Education and Science of Ukraine, our faculty ranks first in the university. In particular, in 2016 the faculty carried out 26 works out of 83 for the whole university, and in 2017, 31 out of 97. At the same time, the faculty obtained about 38% and 36% of the university funding for these works in 2016 and 2017, respectively.

In 2017, an employee of our faculty, Legenkiy M.N. received a scholarship for young scientists of the regional state administration named after K. Sinelnikov.
The student of the faculty Khrichev V.S. (Scientific adviser Associate Professor M.N. Legkiy) received a diploma of the third degree in “Physics” in the II round of the All-Ukrainian competition of student scientific works.
The graduation of masters in the 2016-2017 school year at our faculty was 100%.
Our faculty is one of those using fixed practice bases and over the past year the condition of these bases has significantly improved. In 2017, two specialists from our faculty (Antonenko E. and Kozheshkurt V.) left for the German Academic Exchange Service (DAAD) programs in Germany.
For the “Thousand Leading Scientists” program, 3 specialists of our faculty left for China to discuss cooperation issues.
According to the results of the exhibition-contest in the direction “Educational literature for higher education”, a diploma of the second degree marked the training manual of the staff of our faculty Berdnik S.L., Katrich V.A., Pogarsky S.A.. “Methods of computer experiment in radiophysics”, and in the direction “Scientific literature (monographs)” a diploma of the I degree noted monograph by Chernogor L.F. “Radiophysical and Geomagnetic Effects of Rocket Burn and Launch in the Near-the-Earth Environment.”
September 24, 2016 our faculty took part in the city event “Science Night in Kharkov”, a presentation of the faculty was held and interesting experiments were shown.
In 2017, the faculty together with other faculties of the physical profile conducted the All-Ukrainian Olympiad of the Kharkov National University named after VN Karazin in physics for the professional orientation of entrants.
In the rating of the departments of the natural-mathematical profile based on the results of activity in the 2016-2017 academic year, all departments of our faculty are in the top half of the rating, and two of them (the Department of Theoretical Radiophysics and the Applied Electrodynamics Department) are among the seven best. At the same time, the Department of Theoretical Radiophysics occupies the second place in the university in terms of the number of points scored.
