18 December 2017 at the V.N. Karazin Kharkiv National University (within the framework of the European project STINT, based on the School of Radiophysics, Biomedical Electronics and Computer Systems) will hold a one-day mini-workshop for senior and PhD students.Within the mini-workshop, several reports on low-dimensional photonics and ultrashort pulses (“extreme light”) are planned.
We invite senior students and graduate students to take part in the seminar and present their work on physics, astronomy and biophysics, both in the form of poster presentations (in an arbitrary format) and in the form of short 5 minute. In 5 minutes, you need to present the main ideas of your work in the most simple way: motivation, problem, problem solving, the importance of the obtained results and their possible applications.
English is a preferable language though Ukrainian and Russian are also acceptable.
Registration and participation are free of charge. The mini-workshop includes a lunch and coffee for participants. The number of participants is limited to 30.
To participate in the workshop, you need to pre-register at site until December 11, 2017.

Authors of several strong reports / posters will be rewarded and the author of the best one will have an opportunity to visit the laboratory of magneto-optics at Uppsala University, Sweden.

The organizers hope that this workshop will help motivate young scientists and popularize the results of modern research on photonics and ultrashort pulses.
