Young scientists competition

For young scientists who took part in the first international Ukrainian Microwave Week “ IEEE Ukrainian Microwave Week ” , at
With the support of the European Microwave Association ( European Microwave Association -EuMA ) a competition for the best paper was held.
The competition took place on September 30 via videoconference. 37 young scientists took part in the competition, 7 of whom are students, graduate students or employees of our faculty. The qualified jury evaluated scientific content of the work of a young scientist, understanding of the topic by the speaker, originality and novelty of the work, quality of presentation, ability to conduct scientific discussion.
Three graduate students of our faculty became prize winners of this competition. Alexander Prishchenko won the II place for the report “Landmine detection and classification using UWB antenna system and ANN analysis”, and Vladislav Khrichov (the title of the report is “Different components of the electromagnetic scattering of complex shape objects”) and Vadim Plakhtiy shared the III place (the title of the report ” Numerical simulations of the X-band waveguide partially filled with a dielectric with local inhomogeneity inside “).
All winners of the competition will be awarded cash prizes from EuMA (200 euros for the second place and 100 euros for the third place).
